作為一種高檔建筑裝飾材料的石材,多數(shù)人對可用于裝飾的石材的種類、性能都不甚了了.目前市場上常見的石材主要有大理石、花崗巖、水磨石、合成石四種,其中,大理石中又以漢白玉為上品；花崗巖比大理石堅硬；水磨石是以水泥、混凝土等原料鍛壓而成；合成石是以天然石的碎石為原料,加上粘合劑等經(jīng)加壓、拋光而成.后兩者因為是人工制成,所以強度沒有天然石材高.
一、天然飾面石材除需考慮
色調選擇外,還要考慮建筑物的功能.在家居中,客廳及臥室的裝飾宜選用偏暖的色調,以顯示溫暖、舒適的情調；而用于衛(wèi)生間、廚房的裝飾宜選用素淡雅潔的偏冷色調,以顯示出清潔衛(wèi)生.
二、裝飾的意圖與環(huán)境影響由于使用天然飾面石材裝飾的部位不同,所以選用的石材類型也不同.用于室外建筑物裝飾時,需經(jīng)受水期風吹雨淋日曬,花崗石因為不含有碳酸鹽,吸水率小,抗風化能力強,最好選用各種類型的花崗石石材；用于廳堂地面裝飾的飾面石材,要求其物理化學性能穩(wěn)定,機械強度高,應首選花崗石類石材；用于墻裙及家居臥室地面的裝飾,機械強度稍差,宜選用具有美麗圖案的大理石.
豪野洞石三、如何辨識飾面石材質量加工好的成品飾面石材,其質量好壞不可以從以下四方面來鑒別；
⑴觀,即肉眼觀察石材的表面結構.一般說來,均勻的細料結構的石材具有細膩的質感,為石材之佳品；粗粒及不等粒結構的石材其外觀效果較差,機械力學性能也不均勻,質量稍差.另外,天然石材由于地質作用的影響常在其中產(chǎn)生一些細脈、微裂隙,石材最易沿這些部位發(fā)生破裂,應注意剔除.至于缺棱少角更是影響美觀,選擇時尤應注意.
⑵量,即量石材的尺寸規(guī)格,以免影響拼接,或造成拼接后的圖案、花紋、線條變形,影響裝飾效果.
⑶聽,即聽石材的敲擊聲音.一般而言,質量好的,內部致密均勻且無顯微裂隙的石材,其敲擊聲清脆悅耳；相反,若石材內部存在顯微裂隙或細脈或因風化導致顆粒間接觸變松,則敲擊聲粗啞.

介紹天然石材的幾種特性
1．耐火性
各種石材皆不同,有些石材在高溫作用下,發(fā)生化學分解.
（1）石膏：在大于 107 C時分解.
（2）石灰石、大理石：在大于 910 c時分解.
（3）花崗石：在 600 C時因組成礦物受熱不均而裂開.
2．膨脹及收縮
石材也是熱脹冷縮,但若受熱后再冷卻,其收縮不能回復至原來體積,而必保留一部份成為永久性膨脹；美國兵工廠曾試驗由00C至 1000C,再降到00C,測出永久膨脹增加之度為0.02—O.045%.
3．耐凍性
到攝氏零下 20時,發(fā)生凍結,孔隙內水份膨脹比原有體積大1/10,巖石若不能抵抗此種膨脹所發(fā)生之力,便會出現(xiàn)破壞現(xiàn)象.一般若吸水率小于 0.5%,就不考慮其抗凍性能.
4．抗壓強度
石材的抗壓強度會因礦物成份、結晶粗細、膠結物質的均勻性、荷重面積、荷重作用與解理所成角度等因素,而有所不同.若其他條件相同,通常結晶顆粒細小而彼此粘結一起的致密材料,具有較高強度.致密的火山巖在干燥及飽和水份后,抗壓強度并無差異（吸水率極低）,若屬多孔性及怕水之膠結巖石,其干燥及潮濕之強度,就有顯著差別.
建筑裝飾用石材有天然石材和人造石材兩大類,并以天然石材為主,它是一種高級的裝飾材料,主要用于裝飾等級要求高的工程中,人造石材屬于較低檔次的裝飾材料,只用于中、低檔的室內裝飾工程中.
天然石材是指從天然巖體中開采出來的,并經(jīng)加工成塊狀或板狀材料的總稱.建筑裝飾用的夭然石材主要有花崗石和大理石兩大種.
所謂大理石是指沉積的或變質的碳酸鹽巖類的巖石,有大理巖、白云巖、灰?guī)r、砂巖、頁巖和板巖等.如我國著名的漢白玉就是北京房山產(chǎn)的白云巖,云南大理石則是產(chǎn)于大理縣的大理巖,著名的丹東綠則為蛇紋石化硅卡巖.同樣,作為石材開采的各類巖漿巖,如花崗巖、安山巖、輝綠巖、綠長巖、片麻巖等稱之為花崗石.如北京白虎澗的白色花崗石是花崗巖,濟南青是輝長巖,而青島的黑色花崗石則是輝綠巖.
人造石材是一種人工合成的裝飾材料.按照所用粘結劑不同, 可分為有機類人造石材和無機類人造石材兩類.按其生產(chǎn)工藝過程的不同,又可分為聚酯型人造大理石、復合型人造大理石、硅酸鹽型人造大理石、燒結型人造大理石四種類型.
大理石中有種叫小藍寶,又稱屏南G654.小藍寶為屏南縣路下開發(fā)區(qū)新開發(fā)的一種石材產(chǎn)品．小藍寶石材內帶小藍晶點又稱“藍星光”.又因神似進口的”樹掛冰花”,所以有著國產(chǎn)”樹掛冰花”的美名．主要用于外墻、臺面、室外廣場（火燒板）.是一個建筑裝飾的佳品
